One high power AC drive six-axle (7200kW) electric locomotive is successfully inaugurated in CSR Zhuzhou Electric Locomotive Co., Ltd. on June 12, 2009. It is the electric locomotive with the highest independency, the widest adaptation range and the quickest response of driving domestic demands policy. Its successful R&D is the latest achievement of electric locomotive through introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation. It shows that China's electric locomotive has the leading railway equipment technology in the world.
The localization rate of high power AC drive six-axle (7200kW) electric locomotive exceeds 90%. It is the pioneer of applying converter, network control system, ventilator and other key parts independently developed by China in high power electric locomotive. This kind of locomotive can draft 5000-5500t freight train at gradient not more than 1.2% of middle-east lines in China. It has high cost performance and distinct comprehensive environmental protection, energy-saving and economic benefits, and meanwhile, it is another main locomotive of Chinese railway transportation in future.
