During World War II a large number of steam locomotives were produced in England of Austerity type.
After World War II a lot of these steam locomotives were remained in the countries they served.
SJ bought 1953 2 engines from Holland, that would operate unelectrified lines in western Sweden on the former
private railway HNJ.
In Sweden, the two locomotives were rebuilt with enclosed cabin and 3-axis tender.
The work was made in Örebro.
The two locomotives were, however, only in service until late 1950s.
One of the two locomotives (SJ G11 1931) was sold to England in the 1970s and has been rebuilt to its original appearance.
The locomotive is the only preserved of this locomotive type, which was built in a large (800) amount.

Arbetet
gjordes i Örebro.
