Description: The Midland 1000 class was a group of 3-cylinder compound 4-4-0s very similar in design to-but much more powerful than-the 2-cylinder Derby 2P. The MR owned 45 of these engines, numbered 1000-1044. LMS updated the design after Grouping and made a newer Fowler compound, but the originals were kept as well and made it into BR service. This model depicts the Compound in BR lined black. All non-DLS items are available at http://www.trainzclassics.co.uk/. Thanks to Paul Hobbs for his fine spare part libraries and tutorials, without which I could not have done this. |
