Auran is Australia's most exciting interactive entertainment company. Our focus is on the creation of computer games, and the technology to drive them.

Auran's work premises have come a long way since our inception under a house in 1995. In July 1996, we moved from 30 m2 to 300 m2 in the central Brisbane suburb of Paddington. This premise was conveniently located in the heart of Brisbane's eateries and coffee shops (and above the TAB - where you can place bets, for all you non-Aussies), but the office couldn't contain the growth of Auran following the making of Dark Reign. Eventually, in January 1998, Auran moved shop to a massive 3000 m2 next to the Brisbane River in Teneriffe. The photographs on this page are all taken at our Teneriffe office.

The new Auran premise takes up the entire top floor of The Australian Estates Company Building - a heritage listed warehouse. After a significant facelift and subsequent builders traipsing in and out, Auran now consists of a huge open floor plan, a number of rainbow-coloured offices, a kitchen and bathroom facilities, library, server room, QA facility, photocopy room, interview room, 2 meeting rooms and a groovy new sound studio.

The open floor area is dotted with coloured dividers and chairs. Most staff use PII PC's, with personal desks and green foliage. The library is a resource for all staff, filled with reference material and software. All staff have access to telephones and personal email accounts.

The recreational areas at Auran are well-used after hours. Facilities include a table tennis table, pool table, lunch area, couches, console games and a big-screen television. The kitchen is well stocked with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and softdrinks in our fridges. The microwave takes quite a hammering, reheating Indian food after our monthly Indian banquet.

The QA rooms are set up for beta-testing, including a private entrance and bathroom facilities for testers. Auran also has a separate room for the eight servers where our network administrator likes to hide. The entire office is air-conditioned, for those steamy summer days and nights. And if you like to drive a vehicle of the 2-wheeled variety, there is ample street parking.

Auran is close to a number of banks and a supermarket, as well as the docks by the river and New Farm Park if you are feeling energetic. Although, you may not need to leave the office at all, if you wish, as lunches are ordered each day (choice of 3 restaurants each day) via our Intranet and delivered to our lunch area at 12:30 each day.

The friendly folk here at Auran are always happy to welcome new staff and help them settle into work at Auran and life in Brisbane.
